Object
Do you disagree with a fine or decision made by us? You can make an objection. If you want to object online to a fine, you can view the relevant photos.
What you need to know first
For online objection, you need DigiD. If the vehicle is in the name of a company, you need to use eHerkenning. Do you live abroad? Perhaps you can log in via eIDAS.
Don't want to object online? Read ‘I prefer post‘, at the bottom of this page.
Do you want to object to a decision on a dispensation? You can do that by post only. Read ‘I prefer post‘, at the bottom of this page.
Submit your objection in Dutch. An objection letter in German or English is also allowed. If we receive an objection letter in another language, we will ask for a translation. The rest of the objection process will be in Dutch.
You cannot object to a reminder about a fine.
How to file an objection online
Log in via the button 'Object using DigiD' or 'Object using eHerkenning' or 'Object using eIDAS.
Enter the registration number and CJIB number.
You can first view the pictures of the toll ride. Then you can make an objection.
Do you want to object to more than one fine? Then make a separate objection for each fine.
You will receive a letter informing you that we have received your objection.
We will take up your objection. If necessary, we will contact you.
You must send your objection to us within 6 weeks of the date on the decision. After that, we have 6 weeks to respond to your objection. We will let you know in time if we need more time to decide.
You will receive a letter with our decision on your objection.
Someone else makes an objection for you
You can ask someone else to make an objection for you. We would then like to receive a written authorization (pdf, 100kb). You must send this authorization along with the objection. Lawyers do not need to provide authorization.
You don't agree with our decision on your objection
If you don't agree with our decision on your objection, you can go to court to appeal. The letter with our decision tells you how to do so.
Not satisfied with us
Are you not satisfied with us? For example, about the way we helped you. If so, don't object, but file your complaint.
Legal questions
Do you need help with your objection? The Legal Aid Help Desk offers free help with legal questions.
